About Us

“… it was the idea of injecting life into ritualized social interactions that intrigued them…”

Rudy’s Barbershop Pin Up is dedicated to quality haircuts and exceptional customer service at an affordable price in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

WE CUT HEADS - SINCE 1993

In 1993, Rudy's opened and expanded upon the traditional notion of a barbershop to create a sense of community. Rudy’s organic experience was curated with a well-articulated blend of art, music, and a sense of place. To this day, the initial vision of a cross-generational “community center” that acts as a source for creative energy, while offering a great haircut at a great price, remains the basis of Rudy’s mission. The shops’ success has been unprecedented.

To meet the needs of its growing clientele and further redefine the barbershop experience, Rudy’s continues to partner with Davines, Bumble and Bumble and Malin+Goetz; supporting upcoming brands such as Baxter, Le Labo, Grant’s, and Level Organic Soaps; and is always exploring ways to bring quality goods to customers. Rudy’s most recent partnership with Davines marks a new journey into sustainable beauty.

Rudy’s blueprint for retail success, however, is not limited to beauty products; through strategic partnerships with lifestyle brands like Ace Hotels, Apolis, Tom’s Shoes, and The Stranger Magazine, Rudy’s strives to create a complete style and culture experience for the customer. Beyond the shops, Rudy’s anchors its community commitments and philanthropic projects to Real Medicine Foundation, The Film Independent, and the It Gets Better Project.

CUT & RIDE WITH TACOCAT

Fall 2014 Rudy's Barbershop Pin Up and Davines embarked on their first ever tour. The 1968 Airstream trailer turned mobile barbershop made it's way down the West Coast offering free cuts along the way. Joining Rudy's crew of stylists was Seattle favorite, Tacocat, a colorful punk band known for their infectious hooks and tackling issues like catcalling in "Hey Girl" and escaping the drab Seattle overcast in "Bridge to Hawaii". If you missed the tour you can catch up with our four part YouTube series shot by the talented Lisa Bolden.

COME WORK FOR US: INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Rudy’s is always looking for talent as well as ways to grow our current talent to an exceptional level. Our education team prides itself on investing in fresh stylists who are looking for the right community to share their skills. The Rudy’s Internship is an intensive 4 week program that covers men’s cuts, women’s cuts, and color.

NYC: LIZZ HUDSON

In the words of Stumptown barista Lizz Hudson, NYC is a beautifully and vibrant city. Rudy’s was stoked to take on this new adventure into the original concrete jungle, marked and shaped by the amazing risk takers who make up NYC. In 2012 we joined our fellow dreamers and creators.

THE PATH TAKEN

This is a story of a strong willed individual who sets out across the country in support of a company whose individualistic approach and gratitude toward community leads her to promote the connection of humanity. To share the biggest thing we all have in common… life. Vivian drove along with her partner in crime, Hammy the bulldog, from Los angeles to New York for the grand opening of Rudy’s NYC. They stopped along the way in remote towns and cities, scoping out the scene, giving haircuts and interviewing locals to find out about their roots and what community means to them. Vivian experienced many cultures in different parts of the United States through music, food, people and places. Culminating in her long anticipated arrival to The Big Apple, she engaged in a fresh start, in a new city, with a new lease on life.
